Welcome to the CookeBarracks.com Guestbook. 79% of 242 poll respondents said their time at Cooke was either "great" or "the best"; 14% reported "good". Only 7% reported "not so good", or "not good". Clearly, Cooke Barracks was a magical place and, perhaps, that's why so many people visit CookeBarracks.com. CookeBarracks.com was born October 2002 and is responsible for uniting many, many people separated years ago.
This is where those who served at Cooke find each other. You're invited to add your entry so others can find you. For the past ten years, lots and lots of reunions have been made via this Guestbook
Please note your post MUST INCLUDE your FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, and EMAIL ADDRESS or it will not post. Email addresses are hidden by the guestbook software and replaced with email links to prevent spamming and email harvesting. Said differently, your email address remains private unless you respond to a Guestbook entry. Only then will the person you wrote see your email address (but nobody else).
This guestbook includes a couple thousand entries over ten years. So, there's little point in searching page by page to locate someone. This is where Google is put to work. Here's how to search for a long lost friend:
Go to www.google.com and search for your friend exactly like you see in the line below (this includes the quotation marks and "plus sign" immediately next to 'cookebarracks.com'):
"First-name Last-name" +cookebarracks.com
Trust me, if your friend has posted an entry in the last decade, Google will return a direct link to the appropriate Guestbook page so you can email your friend.

I posted an earlier version but I guess that section is kaput.
I was stationed at Cooke from Jan 64 to June 1, 66, lived in 504th Admin huge building. R.I.P. Flugplatz. Was originally in pay section in PSD, the Pernsonnel Actions, then whined until I got assigned to PIO, which was my career, writing for newspapers and magazines. There I served with Lt. Levins who signed in above, as did Freddie Jo Hamilton, editor of the Rolling Review. I was a flunkie, writer and finally radio chief. We all miss Maj. Vincent Werder and MSg Russ Cogswell, who left us a number of years ago. We get together every five years or so.
My fondest memories are the drives down the autobahn to Neu Ulm and Nurnberg and Munich in the Bug that was owned by the best clerk ever, our own radar, Salome Alvarado, who wound up being a reserve Sergeant Major in Iraq with the MPs.
Looking for long lost friends like a fellow named Jaeger or Yaeger who was from Calif. I wonder if he knows that he and Maj. Werder were featured in a book by Ludovic Kennedy. John S. Steel(e?), Glenn Gould who turned me onto my lifelong admiration of the Stones, and Charlie I. Smith of Chicago, a real brother if there ever was one, and Willie, my old-double-pinochle partner--I still remember the night we won a C-note. I have some photos that I will share. I now have the most comprehensive website of the frontier history of northwest Washington, and write and edit for magazines and books. Website: Skagit River Journal of History & Folklore, http://www.skagitriverjournal.com Oh, almost forget. I often talked with Chuck Parvin in Albany Oregon, who passed away in 2011, and I hear from Blaine C. Bemis, Peenie-Weenie, who is in Idaho. **Seatbelts were installed but not in use **No hamsters were harmed in the making of this movie Brevet Corporal retired
